The Injection Molding Process Follows
Injection molding is a flexible, consistent and cost-effective manufacturing process that can quickly produce parts in a variety of materials. Once the process is set up and tested, the machine can produce thousands of  injection molds items per hour.
Step 1
Firstly, polymer pellets are dried and placed in a hopper, then mixed with coloring pigments or other reinforcing additives.
Step 2: Melted
The pellets are fed into the barrel, where they are simultaneously heated, mixed, and moved toward the mold by a variable pitch screw. The screw and barrel geometry are optimized to help build pressure to the correct level and melt the material.
Step 3
The piston moves forward and the molten plastic is injected into the mold through a runner system which filling the entire cavity. As the material cools down, it re-solidifies and takes the shape of the mold.
Step 4
Finally, the mold opens and the now solid injection mold parts is pushed out by ejector pins. The mold then closes and the process repeats.
